Training and workforce planning arrangements

Training and workforce planning arrangements: Progressus Care LTD
Arrangements in place during the last financial year for identifying, planning and meeting the training needs of staff employed by the service provider. From Oct 2025, training needs were identified via a RAG-rated training matrix, Social Care Wales registration requirements, and qualification tracking (Level 2/3). Planning was completed through monthly CPD discussions between staff and managers, aligned to service and young people’s needs. Training was delivered via external providers and monitored through supervision and Regulation 80 reviews. In-house training is being implemented this year.
Arrangements in place during the last financial year for the recruitment and retention of staff employed by the service provider. Recruitment followed safer recruitment procedures, including enhanced DBS, references, and values-based interviews. Four staff left during the year: two due to poor practice, one following role realignment, and one within two weeks as the role was unsuitable. These were managed appropriately, with timely recruitment ensuring staffing stability. Staff retention was supported through supervision, training, and strong leadership.

Engagement with people using the service

During the last financial year, structured and informal consultation methods were used to gather and respond to young people’s views. This included daily engagement, monthly keyworker sessions, house meetings, and the therapeutic model “My Journey Matters”. Young people contributed to daily decisions such as meals, activities, and routines, with views recorded in “How’s my day” logs and ClearCare. Monthly keyworker sessions explored wishes, feelings, relationships, and concerns, with outcomes recorded and linked to personal plans. House meetings were held monthly to discuss routines, activities, food, and the environment, with actions tracked. “My Journey Matters” consists of areas of work, completed collaboratively to explore experiences, wellbeing, relationships, identity, and behaviour. This enables young people to express views, identify changes, and influence support. Feedback informed changes to routines, environment, and care approaches, ensuring young people’s voices shape serv

Compliance and quality statement

Not Inspected - Improvements Underway

We were not inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales during the reporting period. However, through our own checks, we identified areas where we needed to strengthen our approach to meet the standards under section 27(1) of the 2016 Act. We've taken action to make those changes and will keep monitoring progress. Our priority is to ensure people receive care, which is responsive, supportive, and focused on their individual needs.
